Second phase teaching Practice Journey!!!

"Back to the Classroom: The Second Phase of Teaching Practice Journey

 Begins!

19/22/24 to 22/22/24

The second phase of my teaching practice began on Wednesday, 19th. It feels great to be back in the same school with familiar faces—both students and teachers. The day started with renewed expectations, knowing exactly what to expect and how to approach my classes.

I arrived at school around 8:30, and after completing my lunch duty, I had one period with 8th N, revising portions we had covered previously. The day felt shorter, and I had a substitution class with 8th M, which went smoothly. After marking the evening attendance, I left around 4:00 PM.

Thursday was equally enjoyable. I had a substitution class in the morning, and later, we had a meeting about the upcoming NAS exam for the 6th and 9th standard students. I was assigned invigilation duties, and after helping students with their OMR sheets, I spent the rest of the day checking papers. I also revisited some notes with 8th N, clearing any doubts the students had. By the time I finished evening line duty, it was around 4:00, and I headed home.

Friday was a bit hectic with a full schedule. After arriving at school at 8:30, we had a quick meeting to assign duties. I then assisted 6th F students with their exam, guiding them through marking OMR sheets and clearing up any confusion. After the exam, I helped the teachers check the 9th standard answer sheets—quite a labor-intensive task! By 4:30, I was finally able to leave the campus.

It was a productive start to the second phase of teaching practice, and I’m looking forward to more experiences in the days ahead!

25/11/24 to 29/11/24

Today started off with excitement and a bit of a hectic schedule. I reached the school campus around 8:30 AM. My first period was a substitution class for 8th S as my concerned teacher was on leave. The students were engaged, and the activities kept them active throughout the lesson. I also had lunch serving duty, where I helped distribute food to the students. After evening line duty and marking attendance, I left the school campus around 4:00 PM.

On the next day, I felt proud of my work as a teacher. I had three periods, starting with 8th S for a substitution class, where we concluded the chapter. The students were attentive, which made the lesson flow smoothly.  I felt a bit tense about class management, but overall, the students cooperated well. The teacher who was observing me noted down feedback in my reflective journal. The day wrapped up with evening line duty, and I left the school campus by 4:00 PM.

Thursday was another interesting day filled with expectations. After the prayer, I headed to 8th S for substitution duty, where I introduced the new chapter. Later, I had two periods in 8th S, covering lessons. The students stayed attentive and engaged throughout. Teaching is a blend of passion and profession, and I’m loving every moment. Class management remains a challenge, but it’s getting better as I gain experience. After evening line duty and marking attendance, I left the campus around 4:00 PM.

Friday came with more learning and growth. I had two periods in 9th E, where we discussed the topics. The class was active, and the lesson went smoothly. I also had lunch serving duty and evening line duty, which went well. Overall, I’m feeling more confident and content with my teaching practice. The class management improved, and with my teacher’s return, I received more guidance. Another productive day came to an end as I left the school around 4:00 PM.

These days are filled with hard work, learning, and plenty of moments where I feel like I’m making a difference. Teaching practice is truly becoming a fulfilling experience!

Today was a fantastic day, and I’m so happy to be teaching! I had two periods with 8th S where we covered two important lessons: Sound and reflection. The students were engaged and attentive, making the lesson even more enjoyable.

In addition to teaching, I also had food serving duty and evening line duty. Both went smoothly, and I’m happy with how everything turned out. The teaching practice continues to be a fulfilling journey, and today was another reminder of how much I enjoy being in the classroom.

2/12/2024 to 6/12/2024

Today was a busy and fulfilling day at school! I arrived around 8:30 AM, ready for a day filled with teaching and duties. The first part of the day started with kitchen duty alongside Sreegowri. After that, I had two periods with 8th s. The students were engaged and asked insightful questions, making the class more interactive and fun.

The day was also packed with revision sessions for the upcoming exam. I had substitution duty for the class, and we went through the notes, clarified doubts, and solved previous year questions together. It was so satisfying to see the students so involved and focused!

The day was a little hectic with kitchen, lunch duty, and substitution periods, but I really enjoy staying busy—it keeps me engaged and happy. Teaching is truly a passion, and every day in the classroom strengthens my desire to become the best teacher I can be. After marking the attendance, I left the campus around 4:00 PM, reflecting on a productive and meaningful day.

Today, I arrived at school around 8:30 AM, excited for the Christmas celebration that awaited us. It was a special day, as there were no regular classes. Instead, we enjoyed a wonderful celebration in the morning. The atmosphere was filled with joy, and each class had the chance to cut a cake together. It was a sweet moment shared with my classmates. After the fun-filled program, I wrapped up my evening line duty and headed home, leaving the campus with a heart full of holiday cheer.

30/12/24 to 3/1/24

After a short break, the school reopened on the 30th. I arrived around 8:30 AM, ready to start the day. My first task was marking attendance, followed by a trip to the kitchen for vegetable cutting. It was also exam day, and the papers were distributed to the students. While some students scored very well, others didn’t perform as expected. In my 9th standard class, we distributed the exam papers, and the results varied.

Later, I had the chance to meet new students, which was exciting. They listened well during the class, and I was really happy about that. I also had food-serving duty today, followed by marking the evening attendance before heading home.

Preparations for the Youth Festival

The next day, preparations for the state youth festival took over the school. On this day, we discussed the 8th standard question papers, and in the 9th standard, we dived into the chapter on gender roles and identity. Although some students were absent, the ones present were eager to celebrate the upcoming New Year. I had lunch-serving and evening line duties today as well. Later, I took a substitution class, which was a good opportunity to implement the action plan.

A New Year Begins

The new year started off with students coming in excited about their resolutions. I arrived at school around 8:30 AM, ready for another busy day. I had substitution classes for both 8th and 9th standards. In 8th standard, which the students really enjoyed. They were engaged and asked plenty of questions. For the 9th standard, we continued discussing the gender roles and identity chapter, and the students were attentive, making me proud.

It was another day of lunch-serving and evening line duties before I marked attendance and left for home.

Exciting Preparations for the Youth Festival

Today, the school buzzed with energy as preparations for the youth festival reached their peak. A stage was set up, and the accommodations for the students were nearly ready. I had two periods with both 8th and 9th standards, where we continued with our lessons. After class, I marked attendance and called it a day, heading home to relax after a productive day.

9/1/2024 to 10/1/24

oday, I arrived at school around 8:30 AM, excited but a bit nervous, as I had an observation from the optional class. I had prepared for it, but I was still anxious. The lesson for the day was "From the Land of Chola to Delhi," and I had the task of introducing the chapter to the students. Thankfully, they were attentive and responded really well, which eased my nerves. History isn't my strongest subject, but the class went smoothly.

After the observation, I had two periods with the 8th standard students, where we continued with the chapter on economic growth. I was happy to have extra time with them, and the lesson went well. After marking the evening attendance, I headed home.

A PTA Meeting Day

The next day, I arrived at school by 8:30 AM and had two periods with the 8th standard students, where we finished up the balance portion of the lesson. The highlight of the day was the school’s PTA meeting, which meant I didn't have any afternoon classes. Instead, I took on my lunch-serving duty and enjoyed interacting with the students. After marking the evening attendance, I left for home, feeling content after a productive day.

13/1/2025 to 17/1/2025

I arrived at school around 8:30 AM today, ready to face a hectic but exciting day. I taught one hour of 8th standard and one hour of 9th standard, which the students found interesting. The 9th standard students were very curious about the lesson, making the class more engaging.

I also had both kitchen and lunch-serving duties, which kept me busy. After marking the evening attendance and completing the line duty, I left the school campus feeling accomplished.

Today was a full day with four hours of teaching.  The students were really engaged and asked great questions. In the 9th standard, I continued with the chapter, and the students were interactive and enjoyed the session.

I had lunch-serving duty once again, and after marking the evening attendance and completing line duty, I headed home.

Today, I had three hours of teaching, one hour with 8th standard and two hours with 9th standard. In the 8th standard, we explored the topic, which caught the students' attention. For the 9th standard, we discussed numerical problem and the students actively participated in the class, making it enjoyable for everyone.

After class, I marked attendance and headed to the auditorium, where preparations for the annual day began. It was an exciting atmosphere!

The weekend arrived, and I was excited to finish the week strong. I had four hours of class, with two hours each for 8th and 9th standards, and a few extra substitution classes for 9th F. The students in the substitution class were a bit challenging, but I managed. For the 9th standard, we covered "The Tri-Party" and gave out notes to the students. After marking the evening attendance and line duty, I left the school campus, looking forward to the weekend!

20/1/20 to 24/1/2025

Today was an eventful day at school. I arrived around 8:30 AM, but there was no 8th standard class today since it was given to the biology teacher as a substitution. Instead, I used the time to complete some pending work and prepare notes for the students. I also had kitchen and lunch-serving duties, which kept me busy.

Later, I had substitution classes, and during this time, I collected data for my action research. The students were attentive and showed interest, which made teaching much easier.

In the morning, I headed to the auditorium to prepare more notes for the students. After marking the attendance, I gave the notes to the students and checked their work. It was a bit challenging to correct all the mistakes, but it was rewarding. In my substitution hour with the 9th M class, I implemented my action plan, and the students were highly engaged in the lesson.

There were also screening tests for the annual day program, so many of the 9th M students were away for practice, but those present were active in class. After marking the evening attendance and completing line duty, I left the school campus.

Today, I also had the opportunity to observe a general paper class.  The students showed a genuine interest in solving problem, and the observation went well, with minimal need for class management since the students were already self-disciplined.

In the 8th standard, a test was conducted, and the students did well. We then continued the lesson with the 9th standard, covering sound which sparked a lot of curiosity and great discussions.

After marking the evening attendance and line duty, I left the campus, feeling accomplished and looking forward to the next day.

Today, I reached school around 8:45 AM, marking the attendance and heading straight to the auditorium for the day's classes. I spent three hours teaching the 8th and 9th standards.

In the 8th standard, we distributed the exam sheets, and I was thrilled to see the students had scored well—this definitely made my day! Following that, I taught the 9th standard, and in the first period, we discussed Work, energy and power The students were highly engaged, completing all activities with enthusiasm. It was truly rewarding! Afterward, we held an achievement test, and I was pleased to see that the students did exceptionally well.

As the school day went on, the excitement grew with preparations for the Republic Day parade and the annual day practice. It was a busy, productive day, but also a lot of fun. After marking the evening attendance and finishing lunch duty, I left the campus feeling accomplished.

Later, at 9:00 AM, I returned to the school for the grand event—our 85th Annual Day! The students were in high spirits, and we all celebrated together. The chief guest, M. Jayachandran, graced the event, and it was a memorable celebration that filled everyone with joy. What a wonderful day it turned out to be!

The Final Day of Teaching Practice: A Day of Reflection and Celebration

Today, I arrived at school around 8:30 AM, and after marking the attendance, I headed to class. It was a day filled with mixed emotions as my teaching practice came to an end. I had substitution hours for both 8th and 9th standards, and during the free hour in 9th standard, I conducted a diagnostic test. The students were focused and attentive, and they completed the test with great care. Their dedication made me incredibly happy.

With the lesson plans completed, my focus shifted to showcasing my innovative work, a treasure hunt game based on the chapter "sound." The students were fully engaged in the game, which brought a sense of accomplishment to the day.

In the 8th standard, we discussed the chapter "Static electricity," and I distributed the notes to the students. It was fulfilling to see everything fall into place as my teaching practice came to a close. I also had lunch serving duty and evening line duty, and I made sure to collect data for my action plan.

The day ended on a high note. I distributed sweets to both 8th and 9th standard students and gave a small gift to the principal and headmaster, with whom I took photographs to capture this memorable moment. The day was bittersweet, but ultimately, it was a wonderful conclusion to a fulfilling experience. ❤️
